Acceptable Use Policy

CakeLedger is designed for bakers. These rules ensure a safe and productive environment for all users.
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of the Terms of Service between you and The Ledger Pulse Inc. ("Company"). It applies to all users of the CakeLedger application ("Service"). Violation of this policy may result in account action as described in the Enforcement section below.
1. Data Integrity
You agree to maintain data integrity and not create fake accounts or enter false information to manipulate the system.
By using the Service, you agree not to:
- Create multiple accounts for the same individual
- Enter intentionally false or misleading data (ingredients, prices, orders, customer information)
- Manipulate cost calculations or community data through fabricated entries
- Impersonate another person or business
- Use the Service to generate fraudulent financial records
2. Scraping and Automation
You agree not to use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to extract data from CakeLedger.
By using the Service, you agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service using automated tools
- Use bots, scripts, or automated systems to interact with the Service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Attempt to access the Service's underlying source code, APIs, or databases outside of authorized use
- Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or security measures
3. Security
You agree to keep your account secure and not attempt unauthorized access to other accounts or test for vulnerabilities without written permission.
By using the Service, you agree not to:
- Share your account credentials with others or allow others to use your account
- Attempt to access another user's account or data
- Probe, scan, or test the Service for security vulnerabilities without prior written permission from the Company
- Introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Attempt to overload, disrupt, or degrade the Service (denial-of-service attacks)
4. Content
You agree to use CakeLedger respectfully and not for anything abusive, harassing, or illegal.
By using the Service, you agree not to:
- Store or transmit abusive, threatening, defamatory, or harassing content
- Use the Service to facilitate harassment of any individual
- Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable local, provincial, federal, or international law
- Store content that infringes on another party's intellectual property rights
5. Commercial Misuse
CakeLedger is for running your baking business. You agree not to resell the Service or use it to build competing products.
By using the Service, you agree not to:
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service
- Use community data to build or enhance a competing product or service
- Use the Service as a data source for market research products sold to third parties
- White-label or rebrand the Service without a written agreement from the Company
Enforcement
Violations are handled progressively: warning, suspension, termination. Serious violations may be referred to authorities.
The Company enforces this policy using a progressive approach:
- Warning: For first-time or minor violations, we will notify you and request corrective action.
- Suspension: For repeated or moderate violations, your account may be temporarily suspended.
- Termination: For severe or persistent violations, your account may be permanently terminated.
- Referral to authorities: For violations that constitute criminal activity, we may refer the matter to appropriate law enforcement.
The Company reserves the right to skip steps in the enforcement process for severe violations that pose an immediate risk to other users, the Service, or the Company.
Appeals: If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal within 14 days by contacting support@cakeledger.com with a detailed explanation. Appeals will be reviewed and responded to within 14 business days.
